I made a decision to pursue God for real and to walk away from my crazy lifestyle, and that’s when He challenged me to take some risks.

I grew up in a Bible-speaking, conservative household. My father could be harsh with me at times, and I certainly didn't receive the affirmation that I needed from him. When I found out that I could receive male affirmation through sexual encounters, I dove into that lifestyle quickly. Add a few years, drugs, alcohol, independence, and I had the perfect storm.

I woke up next to a guy; I couldn't remember his name. Suddenly, I realized that claiming Christianity wouldn't change anything inside of me without sincerity and surrender. I made a decision to pursue God for real and to walk away from my crazy lifestyle, and that's when He challenged me to take some risks.

I was on the fast track with God; that is not everyone's story. I posted my story on a blog, attended a conference with others like me, and eventually ended up dating a woman—which was terrifying. I eventually married the love of my life.

Psalms 37:23, " The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand."

I'm a dreamer, a lover, an idealist, a futurist, a creative, a follower, and a friend. I'm a lot of things we have titles for, but strip it all down to find what's left—who I really am after seasons and years and cities and nations—I'm loved by God and I'm discovering how to live with Him. I'm on a journey that is ambiguous for the nearsighted yet clearly defined in retrospect—becoming fully alive. It's predictably unpredictable to me in the moment but always leads to where I want to be, even before I know where that is. I often share about the process of finding and living the life Jesus has paid for—the abundant life.  Find out more at abramgoff.com
